Well today is the last day of my first week on the phones and a stressfilled week it was.
Phone has been off all week as I can't stand the sound of phones atm.
The job isnt really so bad once you get used to it but this first week was hella rough.
Once you get it all down it becomes rather mindless and time goes by rather quickly.
Ive been rather lucky so far about rude customers as well, ive talked to a few angry ones but
they did their best to not take it out on me. AND WHY IS IT THAT THEY GIVE DSL ACTIVATION DATE
THAT IS A WEEK BEFORE IT IS ACTUALLY UP! thats been 80% of my calls so far. CENTURYTEL IS CRAP
The rest is either sending someone out there to fix the lines or setting up email.
But by far my least favorite are the "new computer users" I had 2 in a row of these yesterday where
it took 15 mins (call time supposed to be under 11) to direct them to internet explorer the exe of
which did not exist in the IE folder somehow(dont ask me how i got 2 of these in a row). Both computers
were utterly infested with AOL that would pop up and try to dial out on dial up when trying to reach
the intertron. Next was the explanation that "the google" was inside of IE not its own program.
that took 5 mins right there and reset of the old homepage(AOL of course). Granted they were not
rude so im being mean but DAMN. Also ALABAMA ALABAMA ALABAMA WOW. Note...even if you work in "IT"
DONT FUCKING TALK DOWN TO ME ASSHOLE, especially when you MISUSE technical jargon, I KNOW WHEN YOU ARE BULLSHITTING!!!
IM MAJORING IN NETWORKING. The worst part is he prolly makes 50k a year or more doing "IT" for whatever shit company he works for.
but for the most part people are nice but those select few... wow
so thats where ive been
